About us

Nepal Schools Trust is a charity working to help children and their schools in the Pragatinagar and Devchuli village development committee districts. These are farming communities in Nawalparasi region, at the foot of the Himalayas in Nepal. The VDCs contains 9 wards, a population of around 30,000 people, and have 20 government schools including Nursery, Primary, Secondary and a specialist Hindu School.

The Nepali government endeavours to provide education to all primary aged children. At this time it can only provide about half of the funds that are truly needed.

That often means that villages have to find money to put up buildings and pay extra teachers. All post primary schooling is community or parent funded.

We strive to help these schools achieve a better quality of education for the children of the village. We work with government schools to identify areas of need and provide practical and financial assistance where we can.

The Trust is run entirely by volunteer effort with minimal overheads and therefore almost 100% of your donations will go directly to schools in Nepal.
