About us
Nepal Schools Trust is a charity working to help children and their schools in the Pragatinagar village district, a farming community in Nawalparasi region at the foot of the Himalayas in Nepal.
The Pragatinagar village contains 9 wards, a population of 30,000 people, 9 primary schools, 4 secondary schools and 2 higher secondary schools, of these, there are:
- 1 private non-profit,
- 3 private for profit,
- 11 government.
The Nepali government endeavours to provide education to all primary aged children. At this time it can only provide about half the funds that are needed.
That often means that villages have to find money to put up buildings and pay extra teachers.

School buildings are inadequate with too few classrooms, no facilities, poor sanitation and not enough space. Improvements are possible only through community efforts, contributions or outside support.
We want to help these schools achieve a better quality of education for the children of the village by raising funds for them.
